Half-Remembered People
Search engine bait for people half remembered from my year at school. There should be many more, but it is
shocking how few people I could put a first name and last name to.
The Marlborough School, Shipton Road, Woodstock 1978-1985.
- Mark 'Genghis' Carne (Enstone), football, Liverpool, WH Smiths in Hounslow and Bristol
- Andy Davy (Woodstock), snooker, football, Economics at Liverpool.
- Peter Westall (Yarnton). Had a sister, Jaqui, who was going to be a physiotherapist. Once tried to persuade me that there was a particular grass verge in Yarnton where people always dropped money. Of course I only found any when I was with him. I still think it was cool to be prepared to lose money on a good gag.
- Simon Piggott (Bladon), AD&D, pottery. Sister Rachel danced in the Autumn Festival. Most likely to be killing orcs.
- Tony Godfrey.
- Alison Davis (Woodstock). Had a birthday party at which the Sex Pistols' "Friggin' in the Riggin'" was played over and over again. Heh heh.
- Emma Cable (Woodstock), birthday at The Black Knight. Small, funny. (I wrote "loud" originally, but my sister suggested I should write "bubbly", so "funny" it is.) Most likely to be a stand-up comic.
- Cordelia 'Cordy' Collins (Woodstock), opticians in Woodstock
- Geraldine Lambert, v. tall.
- Jacqui Gammage (Bletchingdon), 2nd year
- Ann Trafford (Begbroke). Conducted a survey in the first year on who was the most fanciable. The intention was clearly to collect votes for herself, so I voted for Alison. Redeemed herself in the third year by introducing me to John Otway's "DK 50/80".
- Deeann Smith (Woodstock). Used to turn red if asked a question in English, and actually ran out one time. I dread to think what happened in French classes.
- Juliet Hendy (Woodstock), maths, physics, chemistry. Most likely to be a rocket scientist.
- Clare Stephenson, Loughborough?
- Philip Walsh (Woodstock). Maths, economics.
- Pramod Gujral(?). Maths, physics, chemistry.
- Michael Pomfret (Woodstock),
- Mark & Julian Ridge (Yarnton),
- Darren Earnshaw (Yarnton),
- Allan Heydon (Yarnton). Cubs, the "double hedge" in Yarnton.
- Philip Plumridge. Had a slight problem with bottom burping. Mr Tee once dragged him out of maths class and hung him up on the coat hooks. Most likely to be self-propelled.
